I got into aerial fitness last year back when I was living in Boston. Immediately after taking only a few classes, I noticed that my arms were becoming more defined, my legs more toned, and my strength was back to where it was when I was at my strongest.
Not only was my body sculpting in a way that pleased me, aerial fitness was fun. It’s fun to climb silks, learn tricks and falls, and to create a movement out of something in the air. Needless to say, I became addicted to this type of working out, and when I moved back to Orange County, I HAD to find a studio here to feed my addiction.
I found that unlike big cities, Orange County doesn’t have a vast amount of aerial fitness studios to try. I’ve compiled a list of the studios below, and if I miss any, please let me know!
1. Aerial Fitness Orange County
This studio, in Costa Mesa, is a great studio to take privates, group lessons, or to even get your children in on the fun (they have kid classes!) When I’ve gone to this studio in the mornings (typically around 10 a.m.) I’m the only one in the group classes so there is a lot of personal instruction and attention. If silks isn’t your thing, you can also try out the static trapeze or lyra (hoop.)

Urban Aerial Fitness does everything from classic aerial silks classes to pole classes. While the aerial classes are co-ed, the pole classes are strictly provided for women. Looking for a sexy surprise for your hunk on valentine’s day? Give pole a try! They are offering a “Lap Dance 101” on Sunday, February 8.

Fembody has both Orange County and Los Angeles locations. Their OC location, in Huntington Beach, offers classes from aerial, to barre, to pole, and even burlesque. If you’re looking to stick with aerial, you have the choice between silks and lyra.
