Call my old-fashioned, but I love books. Real books. Books that are tangible and carried in my hands. Books that I can flip through the pages, fold the corners, and hang on my bookshelf. I know that kindles and iPads are the latest way to read, but that’s not for me. I love the smell of a brand new book, and not to mention, the crisp and clean pages.

While I know that these books are available on those technology options, these are seven of my must read books for this season while you’re crawled up in bed or on the beach!

Untitled-1

1. Black Dog Summer by Miranda Sherry
Think The Lovely Bones. Black Dog Summer is about the afterlife.

2. The Folded Clock by Heidi Julavits
This is like reading someone else’s journal. It’s interesting, detailed, and personal.

3. The Unfortunate Importance of Beauty by Amanda Filipacchi
Think American Beauty – this is a dark comedy about beauty. Can’t wait to buy.

4. Unbecoming by Rebecca Scherm
Psycho chick. Hey, Gone Girl did well, right?

5. The Boston Girl by Anita Diamant
A tour through the North End of Italy in the early 1900’s.

6. The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith (aka J.K. Rowling)
Dead famous girl, a mystery, and J.K. Rowling. What more do you need?

7. My Paris Dream by Kate Betts
This book will be released May 12 and has fashion, 1980’s, fashion, and Paris. What else do you need?
